What inspired you to open Percy and Fred Salon?
Samantha: The first day working in our brand-new salon was surreal. We couldn’t believe our dream had come true.
Ellie: It was a mix of pride and excitement. All the effort we’d put into planning and building came to life in that moment.
What’s been your most memorable challenge?
Samantha: A car crashing through the front window of our previous space. It was shocking and unexpected.
Ellie: That moment really tested us, but it also pushed us to keep going and rebuild stronger.
What’s your focus for the future of your business?
Samantha: The future value of appointments ensuring we’re not just filling time slots but building lasting client relationships.
Ellie: It’s about consistency, loyalty, and making every client experience valuable.

Samantha: Heels!

How would you describe the vibe of your salon?
Samantha: Warm, welcoming, and homey.
Ellie: We make an effort to know each other’s clients and make everyone feel like they belong here.
How do you unwind after a busy day?
Samantha: I like to lay with my legs up against the wall and scroll the internet.
Ellie: I love cuddling my daughter, reading a good book, or tuning into a podcast.
What have you done that’s helped your career grow?
Samantha: I’ve become much more active on social media it’s a great way to connect and build our brand.
Ellie: I went on a working holiday abroad, which gave me a broader perspective and fresh ideas.
What’s your go-to treat?
Samantha: Chocolate.
Ellie: Espresso.
What are you most proud of?
Samantha: The overall performance of the salon and how far we’ve come.
Ellie: The ability to completely change someone’s day and boost their self-esteem. That’s powerful.

Samantha: Kitomba. The fact that we can contact their support team and they can remote in to fix issues is a game-changer.
What kind of music do you play in the salon?
Ellie: We don’t have a set playlist we just go with the vibe of the day.
