In-store deposits allow businesses to collect deposits in Kitomba 1 and link them with specific appointments. This removes the need for the current client account payment workaround, which isn’t tied to appointments and isn’t available in Kitomba 1.
With Deposits in Kitomba 1, you can:
- Add a deposit to an appointment made in Kitomba 1
- Collect deposits in-salon using your card terminal
- Charge a client’s saved card using Kitomba Pay (admin user or PIN-enabled device required)
- Kitomba will automatically apply the deposit when invoicing the appointment.
How it works
Taking an in-store deposit is simple. You can add a deposit directly from the appointment book, and Kitomba will automatically calculate the amount they need to pay based on your deposit settings. Once collected, the deposit is automatically linked to that appointment and applied when it comes time to invoice, so there’s no double-handling or manual reconciliation needed.
Collecting the deposit is simple too. You can take payment in person using your card terminal, but if you have Kitomba Pay, you can do even more: charge a client’s saved card directly from Kitomba 1, send automatic receipts upon payment, and issue refunds without leaving the system.
Note: Charging a saved card requires either admin access or a PIN Access-enabled device.
What’s PIN access?
PIN access is a new mode in Kitomba 1. When turned on, your staff will be able to switch user profiles with a 4-digit code, rather than having to log in and out.
PIN access also has a timeout feature, which locks Kitomba 1 after a period of inactivity. So your team will log in under their own logins for security purposes and ensures no one unauthorised can access your system.
