Tip 1: Have weekly meetings

Regular communication is key to keeping your team motivated and informed. Weekly meetings where you discuss what’s going well and what areas need improvement are vital to making sure everyone is on the same page so your team knows what to do when they are feeling stressed.

By providing guidance and feedback, you can ensure that your team is performing at their best.

Tip 2: Role-play and training

Making sure your team know how you want them to perform services and carry out their client’s journey is vital to a successful busy season and business performance in general.

By physically practising processes like invoicing on your point-of-sale system and sharing with your team how to recommend retail products to clients, they will become more comfortable and confident in their abilities. This will make it easier for them to meet your expectations and generate sales.

Tip 3: Retail preparations

Christmas packs are becoming available, so now is the time to collaborate with your product representative to create attractive deals for your clients. Don’t be scared to ask them if they can offer any extra incentives or additional discounts to help your team boost sales.

Trish recommends packaging your best-selling service (which you can find out from your salon software. In Kitomba, run the Product sales report), with the christmas pack you purchase from your product rep to create a deal at one simple price.

Tip 4: Involve your team in purchasing decisions

Instead of making the Christmas pack purchasing decisions on your own, engage your team in the process. While you can still make the final call on which packs to purchase, considering your team’s input will boost their commitment and enthusiasm for selling. By incorporating their perspectives into the decision-making process, you enhance the likelihood of effectively selling the packs.

Tip 5: Prepare and practise with your team

As already mentioned, it’s essential to rehearse the promotion of these Christmas packages with your team using roleplays before you begin promoting the special. Make sure that your team is well-informed about the advantages of each package so they can identify which clients they are most suitable for. This preparation will streamline the process of selling these products to clients when they start coming in.

Additionally, practising the invoicing process also helps eliminate any fear or confusion when it comes time to performing these tasks on the floor.
