Computer Specifications

Mac or PC? Which ever system you're running, Kitomba will work with it.
Here is a guide to our recommended computer specifications to ensure
Kitomba runs efficiently for your business.

PC Processor

  • Core 2 Duo 1.5 GHz or better
  • Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz or better - Recommended
  • Desktop computers we supply come standard with 2.9 GHz Core 2 Duo processors

 

MAC Processor

  • iMac/MacBook with an Intel Processor
  • Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz or better - Recommended

 

RAM 

  • At least 4GB RAM

 

Monitor

  • 1024 x 768 pixel resolution or higher
  • Monitors we supply come standard with 1280 x 1024 resolution

 

Ports

  • 6x USB ports and 1x Serial port are recommended
  • USB ports are needed for: Mouse, Keyboard, Scanner, Printer, UPS & Cash Drawer kicker
  • Serial ports are useful for eftpos-linkup (Kitomba Cardlink Integration)
  • Desktop computers we supply come standard with 1x serial and 8x USB ports

 

Barcode Scanner

  • Cut down on errors and speed up transactions

Operating System

  • Windows 7, Windows 8 Professional, or Windows 10 Pro
  • Windows Server 2000/2003/2008
  • Any Mac OSX that is compatible with Java 6, incl
    Leopard 10.5, Snow Leopard 10.6, Lion 10.7, Mountain Lion 10.8, Mavericks 10.9, Yosemite 10.10

 

Warranty

  • Ensure your equipment is backed up by a suitable
    warranty plan
  • Computers we supply come standard with a 3yr warranty

 

Internet

  • Broadband connection with at least 0.5 megabit per second (Mbps) upload speed

 

Receipt Printers

  • We support the following receipt printers:
    • Star TSP 100 Series: TSP 113 / TSP 143
  • Important note: Kitomba is not compatible with serial receipt printers (USB receipt printers only) 

 

UPS Power Supply 

  • Ensure your PC keeps running if the power turns off

 

Cash Drawer

  • Somewhere safe to keep your takings
  • 410mm wide x 415mm deep x 100mm high, 7kg weight
