We’ve just made exciting changes to our access levels in Kitomba 1 to give you more control over the security of your business. Now you can customise Kitomba 1 access levels so your staff have access to everything they need and nothing they don’t.
We’ve set up each access level with all the same permissions they had before we released these new changes. But now you have the ability to edit the permissions at each level to better suit your business needs.
The permissions have been organised into easy to understand categories so you can easily find what you’re looking for.
We’ve made updating staff permissions quick and easy. Any time you edit the permissions of an access level, your changes will be automatically applied to all staff who have been assigned that access level. Plus, because it’s in Kitomba 1, you can make changes on the go, at any time, from any device.

this is a good step in the right direction, however K1 still desperately needs device authentication. Currently if there is a salon login where people obviously need to be able to view & edit client information etc, there is nothing stopping anyone from taking that login and accessing K1 from anywhere and any device.
Logins need to be restricted by device – MAC addresses aren’t foolproof but would probably be good enough, or using cookies, or maybe better using the likes of Google login with it’s 2 factor authentication. Many scheduling softwares use social logins which have 2FA built in…
If someone logs in from a new device, the administrator should get a notification which they can allow or deny…
I would also like staff to be able to access the “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” tab under clients for their own schedule only, on their mobile phones, and with only first names showing for the clients. Mobile phones are often hacked at parties etc and it’s too much risk to have VIP client info on display…
